Private Studio Policies

Studio Policies

Welcome to my studio! I hope studying voice will be a fun and rewarding experience for you. Your feedback is welcome and encouraged. My goal is to help you reach your goals!

This policy is intended to clarify what I expect of students and what students can expect from me.

♫   What you can expect from me

  • Lessons that start on time.
  • My full attention, personalized to your needs.
  • Make-ups for any cancellations I make at a time decided by both of us.
  • A qualified substitute teacher, if you choose to continue study during my absences.

♫   What I expect of you

  • All lessons must be paid for in advance or at the time of the lesson. Cost is $90.00 per hour.
  • You must cancel your lesson 24 hours in advance --- no exceptions.
  • Your lesson time is a standing appointment. It is your responsibility to know when your lesson is and show up for it. Please don’t hesitate to confirm if you’re unsure.
  • You must arrive on time for your lessons. If you arrive twenty minutes late for an hour lesson, you get a forty-minute lesson.
  • You must not come to a lesson if you are sick. If you come to your lesson sick, you could pass it on to me or other students. Please cancel your lesson if you don’t feel well the night before or if you experience any of the following:
    • Stuffy nose or sniffles (even if you think it’s from allergies)
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Hoarseness
    • Vomiting
  • If you show up at a lesson sick, I will send you home and you will not be eligible for a make-up. If you cancel your lesson due to illness (including illness of family members), I will make up the lesson even if you cancel on the day of IF you call first thing in the morning.
  • There are no refunds (i.e., payment is due whether or not you attend your lesson) for last-minute cancellations or no-shows; however I will make up lessons whenever possible and appropriate.

Make-up Policies

I will make up lessons that are missed due to:

  • Illness (yourself or an immediate family member)
  • Documented emergencies (medical or personal)
  • Cancellations made 24 hours in advance

A regularly scheduled lesson time may not be used as a make-up. Missed lessons must be made up in the same month during which they are missed.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have about this policy or any aspect of your voice lessons. I look forward to working with you!

After reading my studio policies, if you would like to schedule a trial lesson, please go to the contact page and send me a message.  I will then send you an appointment quest link that allows you to schedule a lesson at the times that I have available.  Please know that during the school year there are not many available times and lessons are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
